The Catholic festival of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) is held annually in June, when the Host, the consecrated bread, contained in a Monstrance is paraded around the streets with much ceremony. In Zahara de la Sierras, a beautiful little “pueblo blanco” white town in the Sierras de Grasalemer in Spain’s Andalucia they do it differently, as they have for 513 years.

The Mosque-Cathedral in Cordoba, Spain is one of the worlds architectural gems, and nowhere else will you find a Christian Church and a Mosque in the same structure. Building started in 784 and it served the Islamic community as a prayer hall, place of learning and as a sharia court until the defeat of the Moors in 1236.
